I’ve seen many times where people are claiming or declaring something in the name of Jesus. First thing to know is that our words do not have the power to manifest the things people are claiming and declaring. Only God has this power. The false teachings of the Word of Faith (WoF) movement state that our words have power and we can declare something and it will come to pass. They state that we can claim something and we will receive it. Please do not be duped into this heresy. Jesus did not die so we can name it and claim it and declare it….whatever “it” may be. Jesus died to be the atonement of our sins so that we can be reconciled to God and have a relationship with God. With this relationship we can go to Him in prayer with our requests (not our demands). We are to rely on Him, not try and make our own way. Also, our prayers should be conformed to His will rather than our flesh.
